This morning I woke up with a headache - yes, I was out the night before and yes, it happened that I drank too much. All I could think of was a nice breakfast. And eventually a coffee, even though water would be better.
3 hours after I woke up I landed in the shop "Blue Bird", a very small coffee shop on Northcote Road in Clapham Junction.
I chose this place as I am on the road with my boyfriend and he recently decided to do some online courses and wanted to study. I loved the idea of working next to him in a coffee shop, having a nice coffee served and an avocado on toast! We first walked to "To Love Tea and Coffee House", but they were packed (yes, I really fancied their avocado on sourdough). So we walked further down the street and when I looked across the street, I decided to take a closer look at this very small shop. It is so small, you have to order the coffee on the counter, which looks like a Costa take away shop on a train station. Then you can go inside and have a seat. If you are lucky, because they only have 5 tiny, little tables.
There was one table occupied, it looked like the most quiet place around this time and I told him, it's best to sit and study here. He was a bit hesitant, but I even saw that they have sockets where we can charge our laptops. So he agreed. While I am writing this, charging my laptop, I am quite happy they do have sockets and have not banned laptops and tablets like "Story Works".
Here we are now, after two hours, a chai latte and a cappuchino later. He almost finished his chapter of his course and I had my avocado on toast. Very delicious, by the way.
Blue Bird is a tiny place, very cosy with good coffee and a good selection of cakes and breakfast. The idea with being a take away counter and having some tables inside works very well. The only thing is, that is cold as the window of the counter is constantly open. But that makes you only want to drink more hot drinks, doesn't it?
Check it out - it's worth it!
