My Devotion To Coffee

It's been too long that I've just kept running past this coffee shop and never walked in. The yellow door frame and the big windows already gave me an idea of what to expect whenever I ran past in the mornings. I realised that they open quite early and I always had it on my list but never made it.

Until yesterday. Currently, I am alone in my flat in London and rewarded my daily 5 kilometer + runs with either a chai latte or, as of yesterday, an oat latte.

Shortly after 8am I popped into the tiny shop located on St John's Hill next to a beauty and a vape shop. I was served by a young lady, whilst behind me, a queue started to build up. There were also two of the 4 tables occupied. The shop was busy.

Looking around, they offer a wide range of different alternative milks, of which I chose Oatly (of course!). With my yellow coffee cup in my hands, £3.60 less in the pocket, I left and went home, where I tasted the coffee and was positively surprised. It tasted really nice! The temperature was not too low or too hot and I could taste the coffee next to the oat milk.

Because I liked it a lot, I decided to go again today, even though I almost changed my mind walking past Caffe Nero. The shop was empty and at first, I couldn't even make out a barista until I went inside and saw a tall guy standing next to a dog. After I ordered my coffee, I started speaking with the barista about the dog and Sicily (my next destination on Sunday 😉). It was a nice chat to have in the morning and next to the 5-star coffee I can also add 5 stars for the service. This is what an independent coffee shop is all about.

Once I am back from my 2 weeks of Italy (I will keep you updated about their coffee there and make my boyfriend proud!), I will definitely pop into Devotion again. Who, by the way, is also a partner of RWRD. I am sure I'll have 10 stamps soon!
