It's been almost a year since I discovered Devotion in Clapham Junction. If you scroll through my blog, you find a post about it already. That doesn't stop me to keep you posted about them - they have upgraded their shop a little and it gives an even nicer atmosphere.
Coffee shops have been open to sit in for a few months now. I started to take this opportunity to bring my laptop and start writing on my project again. How I missed it. It's good to get out of the house in the morning and even though I return home for work, this little break before work makes a big difference. Just being somewhere else, hearing people talking around you - in today's case in Italian, which even gives me a nice holiday feeling.
On Tuesday I was out in the morning to do some groceries and I wanted to bring home some coffee rather than making it myself like I do every day. One of my favourite coffee shops in Clapham had to close due to the pandemic, so I wandered further up the street and got to Devotion. I haven't been here for a while, so it was the perfect opportunity to get in again and I knew I'd write about it on my weekly blog.
The coffee shop is small but cosy, with a warm atmosphere, given by the yellow counter, the big window, and the plants hanging everywhere.I realised on Tuesday that they changed a few things, the new shelves behind the counter, the new signs with the menu and a new layout for the seating area.
They are also open from 6am, which is perfect, given its location next to the station. Grab your coffee from Devotion before you take a train rather than from the big chain coffee shops. And I also saw that they are offering drinks on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I might come back later tonight? ;-)
Even if I wanted to look for some critic, I cannot. The shop is exactly what I expect from an independent coffee shop in London, cosy and welcoming, with tasty food and good coffee. And the best? Dogs are welcomed!
Head to Devotion on St John's Hill, say hello to Giovanni, and grab a tasty coffee to kick start your day!
